Havent Been here in a while

I've really been wanting to go out and shoot. But with a deployment comming up, right around the corner, I havent had time....terrible excuse i know, but for anyone who has ever been in my shoes, they know what i mean.

I'm a new photographer. I'm a soldier stationed in Germany and i've been experimenting with my camera for the last couple of years. I've out grown my current camera and am about to make a new purchase which i'm hoping will improve my picture quality as well as allow me more flexibility with my pictures. I look forward to any advice i can get from more experienced photographers.
